ECHS is providing dedicated service for the veterans but some points, as raised by the Veterans ECHS & CSD Welfare Forum seeking resolutions for the grievances of ECHS beneficiaries is descrtibed here.
Despite the outlined provisions for healthcare, ECHS beneficiaries have reported multiple instances of refusal of services, additional charges being imposed and lack of availability of essential medical treatments.
These incidents are causing significant hardship, particularly to the elderly veterans who rely on the ECHS for their medical care. They have widely outlined their issues in their memorandum, which they hope your good self s prompt attention.
Some key concerns highlighted in the attached document include:
Discrimination in the availability of beds and ICU facilities.
Imposition of additional charges for treatments that are meant to be covered.
Sudden withdrawal of hospitals from the ECHS scheme without prior notice.
Restrictions in the selection of doctors and treatment options for beneficiaries.
Hence, the ESM League has apporached CDS and all service Chiefs to look into the matter. The Chairman, ESM league has requested them for urgent intervention to address these issues and ensure that the empanelled hospitals comply with the ECHS policies to provide seamless medical care to veterans, who have dedicated their lives to the service of the nation.
