Special Honour and Care in Military Hospital

Govt of India, MoD has taken keen initiative for war disabled soldiers inservice and evern after retirement in Military Hospitals also. A detailed info containing letter issued by DGMS is reproduced below –

PRIORITIZATION AND SPECIAL MEASURES FOR WAR DISABLED SOLDIERS AND BATTLE CASUALTIES

  1. Ref meeting between DGMS (Army) and Capt Narinder Kumar Mahajan (Retd), President Disabled War Veterans (DIWAVE), India on 30 Sep 2024.

2 . The meeting addressed various concerns related to me medical treatment of war disabled soldiers and battle casualties subsequent to the meeting, the following measures ale to be :implemented by all medical units under AOR to ensure that war disabled soldiers receive priority and the necessary care during their treatment at Military Hospital.

3. Priority for Medical Attendance All hospitals to prominently display the following message at all registration desks. Including A&E, Gen OPD and Spl OPD ‘PRIORITY FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT TO WAR DISABLED SOLDIERS/ BATTLE CASUALTIES AND THEIR SPOUSES & VEER NARIS’. This message should be bilingual and Clearly mention to ensure that all staff and patients are aware of the pr.ontization war-disabled soldiers and their families.

4. Identifiction of War Disabled Personnel When a war-disabled offr/JCO/OR :s admitted to a MH Commandant has to be informed by MOIC/RMO/Offr at the earliest. So as to facilitate an interaction with the war disabled patient.

5.         Dedicated Parking Facilities A deflated parking space for war disabled soldiers should be earmarked at all hospitals. This will provide ease of access and convenience to them.

6.      Nodal officer to coordination. Each hospital to designate Sr Registrar as nodal officer. This Officer will serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) for any concerns and ensure smooth and efficient handling of medical care for these soldiers The mob No of the nodal oar be displayed at al OPD & A&E dept.   • It is requested that necessary action to implement these measures be taken at the earliest and compliance is ensured across all hosps under your AOR.
  • This has the approval of DGMS (Army).
