ECHS Mobile Number Change
The Central Organisation ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme) has introduced a streamlined online procedure to address the issue of incorrect mobile numbers being entered during the registration process of ECHS applications.
A significant number of ESMs (Ex-Servicemen) or Primary Beneficiaries were found to be feeding wrong mobile numbers, leading to non-receipt of OTPs (One Time Passwords) required for mobile verification. This, in turn, prevents the completion of the ECHS registration.
New Online Procedure for Mobile Number Correction
To remedy this issue, the following steps are now to be followed for correcting a wrongly entered mobile number:
Step 1: Login to ECHS Website
- Visit echs.sourceinfosys.com.
- Log in using the credentials that were saved during initial registration.
Step 2: Mobile Number Update Window
- After logging in, a mobile verification window for OTP submission will appear.
- A “Change Mobile No” tab will also be visible.
- The ESM/Primary Beneficiary can:
- Click on the Change Mobile No tab.
- Enter the security answers (provided during registration).
- Enter the new mobile number.
- Complete the captcha verification.
Step 3: OTP to New Number
- A fresh OTP will be sent to the new mobile number.
- Upon successful verification, the user may continue with the ECHS application process.
Implementation & Communication
- This directive is to be disseminated to all Polyclinics.
- It must be displayed prominently to inform ECHS beneficiaries.
