Lakhs of Rupees Exemption for Exservicemen in Purchasing Property

Ex-servicemen are respected in civil society due to their sacrifice for the nation and dedicated services for the citizens. Some state govt has introduced various welfare schemes for the Exervicemen and their family members. Some states offered land for cultivation to the Exservicemen whereas in some states, Exserviceman Corporation established to provide employment opportunities in various sectors so that the important human resources with several years of experience and skill can be utilised in nation building.

Govt of UP has extended a vital benefits to the Exserviceman. On purchase of property of any value you may get exemption of property Stamp duty upto the value of first Rs 20 lakh. On remaining amount, stamp duty to be charges as per general rate. Letter issued by UP Govt is appended below :-

1.       Please refer UP Government letter No 22/2018/583/94-Stamp Duty-02-2018-700 (03) /2018 dated 20 Jun 2018 (copy enclosed).

2.       As per above Order there shall be exemption of Stamp Duty on property valued up to Rs 20 Lac to Ex servicemen/Widows / Dependents etc .   In case the value of property more than the Rs 20 Lac Stamp duty will be exempted on first 20 Lakh and on remaining balance of cost of stamp duty will be charged.
