Quick Action Steps for SPARSH Migrated Defence pensioners

SPARSH has entered in your life. Congratulations friends  !!  You might have received a msg on your smart phone that “your pension has been migrated to SPARSH by PCDA (P)”. Or, may be received :  Dear Customer, as per PCDA directives, your pension  has been transferred from SBI to SPARSH (PCDA Pension).  

It is well known to all that the pension of all govt sectors are regulated and distributed by CPPC of the banks/PO. But MoD has now taken initiative that the pension of all retired Armed Forces Personnel and Defence Civilian pensioners will now be paid directly by PCDA through a system named SPARSH.

Your pension Migration to SPARSH  will effect a lot on your pension disbursement.  With immediate effect, your pension will be distributed directly by PCDA to your account on which you are getting pension till date.   But the difference is that you will get now pension amount credited on the last day of the month  instead of 25th 26th of the month.  

A large number of Veterans and Def Civ have already been migrated to the SPARSH pension system  in phased manner.  During the last week of August,  a huge number of Army, Navy and Air Force pensioners have been migrated to SPARSH.  The actual effects on your pension of the SPARSH is in following ways :

You cannot approach your Bank branch for any kind of pension related observations/disputes/queries with immediate effect. Instead , you can approach PCDA (P) directly using SPARSH Portal.. You may login to SPARSH Portal and lodge your grievance online.

You have now no relation with Bank CPPC. Your pension is now directly controlled by PCDA. Hence, arrears, DA increase, Pay Commission revision and other revision will be effected directly by PCDA.

Quick Action if you have received only the msg that as per directives of PCDA, your pension has transferred to SPARSH

Dear friends, in this case you need not to do anything. Just relax and wait for receiving user ID and password to login to SPARSH portal.  It may take upto 30 days.  Once you receive the user ID and password of SPARSH portal on your mobile phone, you should complete the PDV process as per detai;ls available in our website.

Action for those Defence pensioners who have received SPARSH User ID and Password

Once you have received your SPARSH user ID and password ( Credential), you need to login to SPARSH portal, change your password and complete PDV process.  PDV process is nothing but just complete the confirmation of your data already available duly agreed with declaration available on the page.   After going through this process, you will now be enable to download your PPO, Pension slip Income tax Form 16 etc.  After that you should generate online life certificate once a year.  Need not to be in November every year.  You can submit your LC any time of the year.

Important instructions for Defence pensioners.

Whether you have received any message, user ID and password or not it does not matter. Your pension will not be stopped at all. Still you will receive the pension every month in your bank account as usual. The only changes that occurred is the system of pension disbursement will now be directly controlled by the PCDA.  For new pensioners, no copy of PPO will be forwarded to CPPC of your bank. You should not approach to Bank for any query of your pension except credit the amount in your account like ordinary savings account. All your grievances will be redressed by PCDA.

Now qustion is that, if you have not received any intimation or any message from PCDA regarding migration of your PPO Number from bank to sparsh system, what to do?

It is very simple, firstly, relax and say yourself that nothing happened wrong with me and then just open the website of PCDA SPARSH  pension and check migration status as the services available in the portal. If you are shown your SPARSH PPO Number then kindly change/update your mobile number using Adhaar based authentication system. A button of update mobile number appears at the top right corner.

One you updated your contact number, SPARSH will automatically send you the user ID and Password of SPARSH portal to your mobile phone. After getting the user ID and password, you should get done your PDV process as soon as possible. a list of such non performer of PDV is updated in the official website. Process of reporting Death of a SPARSH Pensioner and Continueation to Family Pension.

  1. How do I report death of a family member in SPARSH? Go To: Services > Report Event > Death, and provide required details along with copy of Death Certificate
  2. For initiation of Family pension, banks have no role now other than opening a bank savings account. Family pension related documentation will be directly dealt by PCDA through online SPARSH Portal.
  3. What is Initiate Family Pension? You can request for your share of pension via Initiate Family Pension – Go To: Services > Report Event > Initiate Family Pension, and provide required details alongwith necessary documents as applicable
