DGQA Day Celebration – Ensuring Quality, Reliability & Innovation in Defence Equipment

Today, 27th September observed as DGQA Day by the Govt of India, Ministry of Defence. The Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA), functioning under the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence (MoD), Government of India, plays a pivotal role in strengthening the operational readiness of the Armed Forces. By ensuring quality, reliability, and innovation in defence equipment, DGQA has emerged as the backbone of India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.

On this special occasion, Director General Shri N. Manoharan conveyed an inspiring message highlighting the commitment of DGQA towards Ease of Doing Business reforms, support for MSMEs & Startups, and promotion of indigenous solutions under Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) is a premier organization of the Ministry of Defence entrusted with:

  • Ensuring quality assurance of defence equipment, stores, and systems.
  • Providing technical support and consultancy to defence production units.
  • Promoting standardization, testing, and certification of defence products.
