India has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining uninterrupted supplies of essential commodities despite the ongoing tensions in West Asia. An Inter-Ministerial Group (IGoM), chaired by Rajnath Singh, reviewed the nation’s supply chain resilience and preparedness during a high-level meeting.

The Raksha Mantri assured citizens that the supply situation across the country remains stable and urged people not to engage in panic buying. He stated that the Government is continuously monitoring developments and taking proactive measures to safeguard availability of critical goods.

The meeting also expressed gratitude to Narendra Modi for his decisive leadership during challenging geopolitical conditions.

India-Romania Defence Partnership Expands With New Cooperation Plan

India and Romania have taken a significant step towards expanding bilateral defence cooperation during the 2nd Joint Committee on Defence Cooperation (JCDC) meeting held in New Delhi on 26 May 2026.

The meeting was jointly chaired by Dr Amit Telang, Joint Secretary (International Cooperation), and Lieutenant General Engineer Liviu-Mihail IANCU of Romania. Both nations reviewed ongoing military engagements and finalised a comprehensive Bilateral Defence Cooperation Plan.

The new roadmap includes cooperation in cyber defence, military medical support, joint training programmes, capacity building and defence industrial collaboration.

During the visit, the Romanian delegation also paid homage at the National War Memorial.
