Serving and retired defence personnel often have to travel to Delhi for official work or for the medical treatment of their dependents. Delhi houses two of the top Armed Forces hospitals – Base Hospital and Research & Referral (R&R) Hospital – which makes the city a frequent destination for defence families. However, finding suitable accommodation in Delhi has always been a major challenge. Personnel either had to arrange rented accommodation in the civil area or depend on attachments with nearby units.
To address this long-standing issue, the Taurus Sainik Aram Ghar was inaugurated in August 2022, located conveniently opposite Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt. It provides affordable and well-equipped accommodation facilities exclusively for serving and retired defence personnel and their dependents.
