The viral information available in social media regarding proposal for Award/grant of one time payment of Rs 15 Lakh for the 1971 war heroes are absolutely genuine and authentic. The Orignimal letter of Army HQ/DESW has been checked and confirmed from the source as found corret. You must know about the schede. Now what action you need to take ? The Defence HQ authority has sought names of such personnel who actively participated the 1971 Indo Pak War and obtained Purvi/Paschimi Star Medals with them in valid documentation. Now, if you think you are eligible, then may send your name to your Record Office with proof , if any. Most of ZSBs are not aware of this matter because the circular has not been circulated to them by the concerned RSB till date. So, direcctly contact to your service HQ/Record office in this matter.

So, you may contact your Record Office / IHQ(MoD)/Army/Navy/AF. Submit a personal application quoting the authority as available here and must enclose the filled up form alongwith the application.
