Veer Gatha 6.0 Topics for Students
The official project guidelines suggest three broad themes. Students can develop their entries around these topics.
1. My Role Model Is a Gallantry Award Winner
Students can write about a gallantry award recipient who inspires them. They should explain the values they have learned from the awardee’s life, such as courage, discipline, leadership, patriotism and selfless service.
2. Keeping the Memory of a Brave Soldier Alive
Students can explore the supreme sacrifice made by a gallantry award winner for the nation. They may explain how they would preserve the soldier’s memory and inspire future generations to honour the contribution.
3. India’s Warriors and Their Military Strategies
Students may write about an Indian warrior who inspires them, including historical figures such as:
- Prithviraj Chauhan
- King Kharavela of Kalinga
- Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
- Warriors of the Revolt of 1857
- Participants in tribal uprisings
Students should focus on the selected warrior’s achievements, leadership, courage, military strategies and contribution to India’s history.
How to Participate in Veer Gatha 6.0
The project follows a school-based selection and evaluation process. Students should coordinate with their teachers rather than assume that every student must upload an individual entry directly.
Step 1: Choose a topic and activity
Select a topic from the official suggestions and decide whether to prepare a poem, paragraph, essay, painting, drawing, multimedia presentation or short video, according to the applicable class category.
Step 2: Prepare the project
Develop original work that clearly communicates the selected topic. Students should pay attention to creativity, presentation, factual support and relevance.
Step 3: Submit the work to the school
Schools conduct activities at their level and evaluate the students’ submissions. The school then selects its best entries for online submission.
Step 4: School uploads the selected entries
The school uploads its shortlisted entries through the common MyGov portal during the prescribed submission period.
Step 5: Entries undergo further evaluation
The selected entries are evaluated at the district, State/UT and national levels.
Official submission portal: https://innovateindia.mygov.in/veer-gatha-6/
Veer Gatha 6.0 Last Date for Submission
The official online submission window is:
Opening date: 9 October 2026

Schools should complete the selection process and upload their entries as early as possible. The official guidelines specifically advise schools not to wait until the final date once their best entries have been shortlisted.
Students should contact their school authorities to confirm the internal submission deadline, which may be earlier than the final online deadline.
How Many Entries Can Each School Submit?
The official guidelines provide for a total of four best entries per school.
| Type of School | Entry Allocation |

The selection and uploading of entries are the responsibility of the participating schools under the prescribed procedure.
Veer Gatha 6.0 Evaluation Process
The project has three levels of evaluation.
District-Level Evaluation
Entries submitted by schools are evaluated by designated District-Level Nodal Officers and other officials appointed under the applicable arrangements. The best entries are forwarded to the State/UT level through the MyGov portal.
State/UT-Level Evaluation
The selected entries are evaluated by the designated State/UT-level authorities. The best entries are forwarded to the Ministry of Education for national-level evaluation. The guidelines also provide for verification of originality and genuineness through interviews or other appropriate methods.
National-Level Evaluation
A committee constituted by the Ministry of Education conducts the final evaluation at the national level.
Teachers and education officials from different school systems may participate in the evaluation process on nomination, as specified in the project guidelines.
Veer Gatha 6.0 Awards and Cash Prizes
The project recognises students at district, State/UT and national levels.

- Use reliable references: Research the life and achievements of the selected gallantry award winner or warrior.
- Follow the word limit: Keep paragraphs and essays within the prescribed limit.
- Organise your content: Present ideas in a logical order, with a clear introduction, main discussion and conclusion.
