India Reviews Supply Chain Preparedness Amid West Asia Crisis
India has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining uninterrupted supplies of essential commodities despite the ongoing tensions in West Asia. An Inter-Ministerial Group (IGoM), chaired by Rajnath Singh, reviewed the nation’s supply chain resilience and preparedness during a high-level meeting.
The Raksha Mantri assured citizens that the supply situation across the country remains stable and urged people not to engage in panic buying. He stated that the Government is continuously monitoring developments and taking proactive measures to safeguard availability of critical goods.
The meeting also expressed gratitude to Narendra Modi for his decisive leadership during challenging geopolitical conditions.

India and Singapore Deepen Defence-Tech Cooperation
India and Singapore have strengthened defence engagement in emerging domains of warfare following the visit of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh to the Digital Operations Technology Centre (DOTC) of the Singapore Armed Forces.
The visit offered valuable exposure to Singapore’s cutting-edge digital warfare systems, intelligence integration and technological capabilities. Discussions reportedly focused on future collaboration opportunities between the Indian Armed Forces and Singapore in areas such as cyber operations, digital warfare and advanced military technologies.
The interaction reflects India’s growing emphasis on modernising defence preparedness through strategic international partnerships.
India-Romania Defence Partnership Expands With New Cooperation Plan
India and Romania have taken a significant step towards expanding bilateral defence cooperation during the 2nd Joint Committee on Defence Cooperation (JCDC) meeting held in New Delhi on 26 May 2026.
The meeting was jointly chaired by Dr Amit Telang, Joint Secretary (International Cooperation), and Lieutenant General Engineer Liviu-Mihail IANCU of Romania. Both nations reviewed ongoing military engagements and finalised a comprehensive Bilateral Defence Cooperation Plan.
The new roadmap includes cooperation in cyber defence, military medical support, joint training programmes, capacity building and defence industrial collaboration.
During the visit, the Romanian delegation also paid homage at the National War Memorial.
Department of Military Affairs Launches Official Website
The Department of Military Affairs (DMA) officially launched its dedicated website on 26 May 2026 in a move aimed at enhancing transparency, accessibility and public engagement.
The portal was inaugurated by Anil Chauhan, who currently serves as Chief of Defence Staff and Secretary, DMA.
The website is expected to serve as a central platform for sharing key information, updates and initiatives related to India’s military affairs with citizens and stakeholders.
Indian Navy’s Gurindervir Singh Becomes Fastest Indian Sprinter
In a historic sporting achievement, Gurindervir Singh, serving as a Petty Officer in the Indian Navy, has become the fastest Indian ever in the 100-metre sprint.
He clocked an extraordinary 10.09 seconds at the 29th National Federation Cup Athletics Championships held in Ranchi, setting a new national record and etching his name into Indian athletics history.
The remarkable performance also secured his qualification for the 2026 Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.
The achievement highlights the growing excellence of Indian Armed Forces personnel in international sports arenas.
