Rail Fare Concession Scheme by Kendriya Sainik Board is for eligible ex-servicemen and their dependents. Supreme sacrifice of Indian Armed Forces personnel and officers are well known to all. The soldiers are always in service of nation with pride without taking care of their own comfort. Deployment in rough terrain, mountains, desert and forest is their day to day matter. Govt of India has extended several welfare schemes for Ex-servicemen and their families, war widows and disabled soldiers. Today we will discuss about such an important welfare scheme.

Who are eligible for Rail Fare Concession
Free Rail Ticket for the recipients of PVC, Ashok Chakra, MVC, Kirti Chakra, VrC and Shourya Chakra and the widows of posthumous winners of these Gallantry Awards along-with a companion.
75% concession in rail fare for travel in 2nd Class is available to war widows. This concession for War Widows can be availed only on production of the I-Card issued by the Kendriya Sainik Board.
