ECHS has now introduced the IT based renewal of the membership from year 2022. Online Process of uploading documents of dependents for Annual Validation in ECHS portal has been started. In this Article you will know about the detailed process of online submission in ECHS Portal. Before jumping to the main topic, we should know about the Govt orders and instructions in this regard. The window for uploading the documents will remain open from 01 Aug to 31 Oct 2022 i.e. for three months. The commencement for blocking the ineligible cards will take place with effect from 01 Nov 2022.

The Central Organisation of ECHS has issued instructions regarding submission of Annual Life Certificate for Pensioner and all dependent beneficiaries. Eligibility Certificate for all dependents except wife (spouse) only required to be submitted. The Annual Life Certificate of the Primary Beneficiary who is earning pension not required to be submitted separately at ECHS as it has been planned to be linked with SPARSH from where the Life Certificate for ESM/Primary Beneficiary is envisaged to be automatically populated in the ECHS database.

Govt instruction for submission of eligibility certificate and Life Certificate for Dependants

The primary beneficiaries and their spouses will not be required to submit the Annual Life Certificate. However, in case of demise of the primary beneficiary or the spouse, actions will be taken as per Central Org letter No B/49711-NSC/AG/ECHS dt 16 Jul 2021.

Documents Required to upload in ECHS Portal for Annual validation of ECHS Card of Dependents

It will be the responsibility of the Primary Beneficiary to upload Annual Life Certificate and documents for establishing the Eligibility to ensure validity of 64 KB ECHS Card. Primary Beneficiary to submit the following documents online for dependents except his wife :-

The Primary beneficiary will thereafter submitonline declaration for all dependents which will be auto populated.A declaration as per prescribed format will be submitted by clicking the check box Agree.

Process of Online Submission of Documents (Annual Validation) on ECHS Portal

Step 1 : Click on the ECHS login link given below.

Step 2 : If you have already registered, put the User ID (Mobile Number) and Password. If not registered, fill up the details and signed up.

Step 3 : You will notice the present status of Card. If update button is there, you need to click on the button and upload scanned copy of the following documents:

(a) you should upload copy of the PAN Card of dependent to the official webportal of echs.gov.in only. Do not share it with any other private website.

(b) 26 AS of last 2 years downloaded from Income Tax Website of the dependent over 18 years of age to the official webportal of echs.gov.in only. Do not share it with any other private website.
