Education Grant is financial assistance applicable to Retired employees of Indian Armed Forces. KSB regulates the operations of the management of this grant . It is popularly known as Children Education allowance (CEA). However, actually CEA is admissible to Serving Central Govt Employees including Defence service personnel. Application process and eligibility criteria for grant of Education Grant has already been discussed in the earlier article. In his article we will go through Revised date of (cut off date) to apply for EG for Exservicemen. The actual Name of the scheme is – FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR EDUCATION OF CHILDREN
This is applicable for classes 1 to 12 of school and undergraduate classes of a degree college. This grant is also admissible to widows who wish to pursue 2-year post graduate degree. This grant is not applicable for any of the professional or technical courses/degrees.
Eligibility for Children Education Grant for Exservicemen.
The Exservicemen must fulfill the following criteria to avail this grant:-
Ad(a) Applicant must be an Exserviceman or widow or orphan dependent.
(b) Appliant should be retired in the rank of Havildar/equivalent and below.
(c) The child of the applicant should have passed the previous academic class.
(d) Application of applicant should be recommended by respective Zila Sainik Board (ZSB)
(e) Applicant should not be drawing education allowance from the State or his Employer.
How to apply for CEA after retirement (Children Education Grant) for Exservicemen.
Online application should be made on the prescribed application form with verification of concerned Zila Sainik Welfare Officer (ZSWO) online. Copies of the following documents duly attested by the respective Zila Sainik Welfare Officer must accompany the application:-
(a) Service Document/Discharge Book of ESM (Page that contains ESM/Personal Particulars,Service Particulars and Family Particulars )
(b) Exservicemen or Widow I-Card issued by respective ZSB.
(c) Mark-sheet / School Progress Card of child/children.
(d) Part –II Order mentioning names of the child(ren) for which grant is sought or there should be a proper entry to this effect in the Discharge Book/Documents.
(e) A certificate from applicant saying that he/she has not taken any money/grant from the state or present employer in the form of education allowance or scholarship.
(f) Details of Bank A/c No (in PNB/SBI only) and IFS Code.
(g) Aadhar Card copy.
Name of the Scheme FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR EDUCATION OF CHILDREN/WIDOWS OF ESM
Eligibility Exserviceman retired from Armed forces in Hav/Nk/Sep and equivalent rank of Air Force and Navy for their wards studying in Class 1-12 or Graduate (Non professional) courses.
Amount Rs 1000/- per month
