Defence Quota in NEET 2024

Result of NEET (UG) Declared on 04 June 2024. Counselling of various states MCC will be started soon. Some anomalies in NEET 2024 Results came in front of the media and it is well known 67 candidtes has scored 720 marks out of 720 and Grace marks also been awarded to more than 1500 candidates and consequently they got very high marks in their final result sheet. Now the candidates are waiting for a revised legitimate result and thereafter Couselling for admission process.

It is very difficult to ensure a seat in Govt Medical College. For Dependents of Defence personnel, there are ample opportunity to secure a seat in MBBS for the year 2024. Ministry of Defence has provided some seats exclusively for wards of defence personnel and officers as per the prescribed Priority list given in this article. Every year more than 23 lakhs of medical aspirants appear all India NEET Examination conducted by National Testing Agency. In this article we will focus on the information related to MBBS & BDS Admission 2024 in Defence Quota Seats. Among the huge number of candidates only 40,000 seats are there for Govt MBBS and BDS seats. So, it is clear that a huge competition is there. Govt of India, Ministry of Defence has provided ample opportunities to the dependents of Defence personnel & Ex-servicemen. Some seats have been kept reserved for wards of defence personnel/ ex-serviceman.

Seats for admission to MBBS and BDS in various states is allotted by “Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Such limited seats are available through KSB for widows and wards of categories of Defence personnel in the following order of priority:

The order of priority for MBBS and BDS Admission in Defence Quota Seats through NEET 2024 are as under :-

Priority 1 : Widows/Wards of Defence personnel killed in action.

Priority -2 : Wards of disabled in action and boarded out from service.

Priority -3 : Widows/Wards of Defence personnel who died while in service with death attributable to military service.

Priority -4 : Wards of disabled in service and boarded out with disability attributable to military service.

Priority -5 : Wards of Ex-Servicemen and serving personnel who are in receipt of Gallantry Awards:-

How to fill up Application for Defence Quota Reservation for admission to MBBS and BDS through NEET 2023

If you are interested to avail this facility, need to register with KSB portal. Then fill up the forms and upload necessary documents as under :

(a)        Annexure (Eligibility certificate) duly signed by ZSB/RSB.

(b)        Discharge book for ESM

(c)        Identity card for ESM

(d)        PPO for ESM

(e)        NEET Admit card/score card.
