DESW, Ministry of Defence has issued a detailed guidelines on revision of pension of Armed Forces Personnel and officers. The Notification contains the methodology of Fixation of Pension for all Ranks and Service rendered for specific period. Eligibility criteria, payment terms and other points of OROP are available in the notification. Just have a look on the points please.

Eligibility Criteria for grant of OROP Arrears and Revised Pension

Those Offrs/JCOs & Other Ranks are only eligible to get their pension revised under OROP Scheme who were drawing pension as on 01-07-2019.

Those Armed Forces Pensioners who were discharged between 01-07-2014 and 01-07-2019, separate corrigendum PPO will be issued for them on account of revision of pension and payment of arrears thereof.

Those Armed Forces Pensioners who have been discharged at own request on or after 01-07-2014, under Pre-matured / VRS are not eligible for the revision of pension under OROP scheme and and arrears will not be paid to them.

Payment of Arrears wef 01.07.2019 under OROP Scheme

Arrears of pension to eligible pensioners under OROP Scheme will be paid in Four equal Half early installments .

For Family pensioners and Gallantry award winners, the arrears of pension under OROP will be paid fully in one installment.

For those Armed Forces pensioners, /Family Pensioners whose accounts have been Migrated to SPARSH, will be dealt with SPARSH Allahabad and not by Banks.

No arrears of OROP will be paid for the period prior to 01-07-2019.

If the pensioner under this provision (OROP) died before receiving the OROP arrears, LTA shall be paid to the NOK.

Arrears of revision of pension under OROP Scheme will be calculated from 01-07-2019 till the date of calculation. eg. 1-7-2019 to 31-12-2022.

Any over payment of pension, outstanding, may be recovered from this arrears.

PCDA, Pension (Allahabad/Prayagraj) will issue circular for payment of arrears/Revision very soon, as expected.

OROP Table Related to JCOS/OR and Commissioned Officers

Main Tble which is applicable to common JCOS/OR of Gp X and Y of Regular Service of Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force are lied on Table No 7 and 8. Remaining Table are related to various categorie of personnel/officers i.e DSC, TA, MNS, Commissioned Offts, SSC Offrs etc. To know the deails of the table you may visit the official wbsite of DESW, Ministry of Defence herein all the 121 Tables are available. Anomaly in OROP Tables for JCOs OR

Negative effects have been seen in the average pension of JCOS OR. Majority of JCOs/OR are not getting benefit for a single penny wih this OROP-2. Table No 7 and 8 shows the pension for Gp X and Y JCOs/OR of regular Army Navy and AF personnel. In this tble it has been seen that there is no differrence in pension of two or more ranks. Hav/equivalent ranks with service from the length of 15 to 22 years are getting same pension. the majority of retired Armed Fces personnel belongs to Hav/Sgt/PO and equivalent rank who have completd their coloured service are not benefitted with a single Penny There s no incrreas in pension since 2014 ? The questions have been throughn to the oD by the ESM organisations but govt authority is still silent. Lets hope for the good days when govt will consider the anomaly and necessary rectification be carried out.
