Highlights of Interim Budget 2024

Some key points of the Interim Budget are:-

# The Budget raised the capital expenditure (Capex) target by 11.1% to Rs 11.11 lakh crore to take India’s economy on track to become the world’s third largest economy.

# In the last 10 years, tax collections have more than doubled. This means that the income of Indians has increased significantly.

# 40,000 rail coaches will be upgraded to ‘Bande Bharat’.

# New 3 major Railway Economic Corridors under Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti Yojana – a) Energy, Minerals and Cement Corridor; b) port connectivity corridor; c) Planned to create high traffic density corridors.

# To promote domestic tourism, projects for port connectivity, tourism infrastructure and facilities will be taken up in Indian islands including Lakshadweep.

# The government will launch a scheme to help the middle class buy and build their own homes.

The budget is primarily focused on the development of these 4 main segments of India – poor or economically weaker sections, youth, food donors and women power. The presentation of the Interim Budget certainly shows that the Central Government is working tirelessly to achieve the goal of ‘Developed India’ by 2047.
