Details of Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojna (PMBJP) for Exserviceman

Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojna (PMBJP) aims at establishing nation-wide Generic Medicine Pharmacies for providing cheaper medicines to all through dedicated sales outlets called Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra (PMBJK), in various district of the country. Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices bureau of India, Dept of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt of India is the implementing agency for the scheme.

Eligibility and Requirements

2. Essential requirements for opening a PMBJK are as under:-

(a) Individual applicant must have D.Pharma/B.Pharma degrees, or he/she should employ D.Pharma/B.Pharma Degree holder & produce proof of the same at the time of submitting application & at the time of final approval.

(b) Own space or hired space (minimum 120 square foot), duly supported by proper lease agreement or space allotment letter.

(c) For Ex-servicemen, he/she is additionally eligible for the special incentive of a one-time grant of upto ₹2 lakhs. For this, the applying Exservicemen require to obtain an eligibility certificate from the office of Director (Self Employment), DG Settlement located at West Block-4, RK Puram, New Delhi, 110066.

(d) Non-refundable application fees of ₹5,000/- is to be deposited along with the application form. In case of Ex-servicemen, the application fee is exempted. (e) The application is to be filled online. The link for the same is http://janaushadhi.gov.in/online_registration.aspx

Assured Incentives for Ex-servicemen

3. The margin and incentives that are provided under the scheme are as under:-

(a) Operating agency will be provided 20% margin on MRP (excluding taxes) on each drug sold. (b) PMBJK run by other entrepreneurs/Pharmacist/NGOs/NGOs & Charitable organization that are linked with PMBI headquarters through software will get an incentive up to ₹. 5.00 lakhs. The incentive will be given @ 15% of monthly purchase made from PMBI by these PMBJKs subject to a ceiling of ₹15,000/- per month up to total limit of ₹ 5.00 lakhs.

(b) It will also cover PMBJK opened by Women entrepreneurs, Ex-servicemen, Divyang, SC, ST & any entrepreneurs open ‘Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra (PMBJK)’ at aspirational districts as notified by the Niti Aayog, In Himalayan, Island territories and NorthEastern state.

(c) This will be applicable to existing PMBJK also whose existing limit of incentives of ₹ 2.50 lakh is fully disbursed, moreover it will also cover the PMBJK opened in government premises to whom one-time grant of ₹ 2.50 lakh was disbursed. They will get incentive of ₹ 2.50 lakh based on purchase made by them from PMBI as per other terms and conditions applicable to all PMBJKs. Further, any PMBJK opened in Government premises will get normal incentives as applicable to PMBJK in private premises

(d) Special Incentive to Ex-servicemen wherein an amount of ₹2 lakhs in addition to normal incentives as applicable will be provided. This one time grant for opening of new PMBJK will be given for the following:-

(i) ₹1.5 lakh reimbursement of furniture and fixtures.
(ii) ₹ 0.5 lakh as reimbursement of Computer, Internet, Printer, Scanner etc.
