Vacancy in Military Engineering Services to be filled by direct recruitment and through all India Competitive Examinations like UPSC, SSC Departmental Recruitment etc upon their official notification to be published in prescribed mode of publication.

Recently, MES has intimated to the internal HQ authority that some vacant posts should be filled immediately duly initiating the recruitment process at their own. Remaining posts which are around 41822 will be filled up on further instructions by HQ MES authority only. Until then, the MES regional HQs will recruit the vacancies other than the following vacancies through the usual recruitment process. It is expected that a huge number of vacancies in MES clerical posts are vacant and this comes under the regional HQ recruitment process.

Reference information furnished by your Organization with regard to manpower optimization to Department of Expenditure, wherein vacancies of all posts existing in Military Engineering Service (MES) were conveyed.

2. It has been decided that action for filling up of all vacancies as on date may be initiated as per the extant instructions on recruitment/filling up of vacancies of Govt. of India on immediate basis, except the following vacancies till further instructions thereon: –

3. Following instructions may be noted for strict compliance: –

(i) Vacancies mentioned in the Table at Para-2 above, or any vacancies arising hereinafter due to retirement, death or otherwise in these cadres/posts shall not be filled till further orders.

(ii) Action to fill the vacancies shall be initiated within one week from today. If the DR vacancies are to be filled by the authority within the Department, it shall start the process of recruitment by issuing requisite advertisement, notice, etc. [as per RRs] within one week. For such DR vacancies which are to be filled by SSC or UPSC, requisition shall be sent to the concerned Commission immediately or as per the timeline prescribed by the Commission. As regards promotion vacancies, DPC proposals may be moved to the Competent Authority immediately.
