System of Referral to Pvt Hospital from ECHS
ECHS provides treatment basically through the service hospitals of Indian Armed Forces. Considering a huge work load of treatment procedure from the ESM community, there is a provision to get treatment through Pvt Hospitals which are empaneled to the ECHS. The concept of empanelment has come from the CGHS. It has been experienced by the thousands of ECHS beneficiaries that the referral system to Pvt Hospitals and diagnostic centers is an added advantage. The treatment from service hospital is not in the first choice of most of the Ex-servicemen.
Decision of Govt of India on Dis-empanelment of 20 Pvt Hospital from ECHS
The Department of Ex-servicemen Welfare has promulgated the policy to empanel the Pvt Hospitals and Diagnostic Centre and MoU is signed for the scheduled period. In this regard reference may be given of Govt of India, Ministry of Defense letter No 22B(04)/2010/US(WE)/D(Res) dated 18 Feb 2011. Based on the guidelines provided, an exercise was carried out to identify empanelled medical facilities which have not renewed the MoA with Regional Centres, ECHS. The ECHS authority has found a total No of 20 Medical facilities have not renewed their MoA in various military stations and ECHS Disconnected 20 Private Hospitals from Panel
Details of 20 Dis Empaneled Pvt Hospital at various military stations of India
The Defence authority has now dis-empaneled such 20 Hospitals / Nursing Homes / Eye Centres / Diagnostic Centres which have not renewed MoA with Regional Centres, ECHS with immediate effect. The list is available in the official website of the ECHS. However a copy of such dis-empaneled medical facility centres are give here.
