Indian Army at Turkey to Provide Medical Support to Earthquake Victims

Earthquake in Turkey has claimed thousands of lives. On 6 Feb 2023 in Southern Turkey, at about 38 KM West of the city Gaziantep, there was occurred a very high frequency of Earthquake which was in a high magnitude of 7.8 to 9 in the Scale caused widespread damage in the region.

According to the data published in BBC News and press release of Disaster Agency of Turkey Today, the number of people killed in Turkey has risen to 6,957. In Syria, according to its state media and a rescue group about 2,500 people have died in this earthquake.

It has been reported by various news agency that 37,011 are injured and more than 79,000 personnel were engaged in search and rescue operations of the Turkish side of the border.

LCA – Tejas Successfull Landing on INS Vikrant

A historical milestone achieved by India towards Atma Nirbhar Bharat as the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft `Tejas’ (naval version) landed onboard INS Vikrant. The LCA Tejas has proved it efficiency by reducing the speed of 240 KM per hr to 0 KM per hour within 4 Seconds while it was landing onboard INS Vikrant in a Sea Trial.

The indigenous aircraft LCA has been undergoing different trials and the successful landing on the deck of INS Vikrant is a huge achievement, for all the agencies involved in this – Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the Indian Navy, Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).

INS Vikrant is designed by Indian Navy’s in-house Warship Design Bureau (WDB) and built by Cochin Shipyard Limited, a Public Sector Shipyard under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Vikrant has been built with with state of the art automation features and is the largest ship ever built in maritime history of India.

The Indigenous Aircraft Carrier is named after her illustrious predecessor, India’s first Aircraft Carrier which had played a vital role in the 1971 war. It has a large number of indigenous equipment and machinery, involving major industrial houses in the country as well as over 100 MSMEs. With the commissioning of Vikrant, India will have two operational Aircraft Carriers, which will bolster the maritime security of the nation.

During the event, the Prime Minister also unveiled the new Naval Ensign (Nishaan), doing away with the colonial past and befitting the rich Indian maritime heritage.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Declared : No Compromise On National Security For Good Relations With Our Neighbours

6thJoint Staff Talks (JST) between India and the Maldiveswere held in
New Delhi on December 20,2022.The meeting was conducted in a friendly,
warm and extremely cordial atmosphere. Discussions focused on the ongoing
and new initiatives under the ambit of existing bilateral defence cooperation
mechanism of all the three services and further strengthening the
engagements.

The meeting was co-chaired by Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence
Staff, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS) Air Vice Marshal
Ashish Vohra and Commandant, Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF)
Service Corps Brigadier General Hamidh Shafeeg.The JST is a forum

class of stealth guided-missile destroyers, was commissioned in the august
presence of Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai on
December 18, 2022. The event marked the formal induction of the second of
the four ‘Visakhapatnam’ class destroyers, indigenously designed by the Indian
Navy’s in-house organisation Warship Design Bureau and constructed by
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Mumbai.
