Rashtriya Military schools had been established as King George’s Royal Indian Military colleges to take care of the education of the sons of defence employees. In 1952, the colleges were reorganized on Public School traces and admissions had been made open to the sons of Defence Service Officers and civilians. In 1954, the school have become member of the Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) and remains an energetic member till date.

The schools were renamed Military Schools in 1966 and its old motto, ‘Play the Game’ become replaced with ‘Sheelem Param Bhushanam’ this means that Character is the Highest Virtue. On twenty fifth Jun 2007, the schools got their gift name “Rashtriya Military School”. The college has numerous of its alumni occupying high positions in the Armed Forces and in different sectors doing stellar carrier to the motherland.

PROCEDURE OF ADMISSION in RMS (Rashtriya Military Schools)

Common Entrance Test for admission to Class VI and IX is held in December and is automatic OMR based totally in subjects stated under the pinnacle “ADMISSION TEST”. For admission to Class VI a candidate must no longer be much less than 10 years and greater than 12 years of age as on 31 March of the year of admission.

For admission to Class IX a candidate should not be less than thirteen years and greater than 15 years of age as on 31 March of the 12 months of admission. Fee Structure for admission to RMS

The revised fee structure for Rashtriya Military Schools as approved by MOD vide GSL No5(1)/US/D(GS-II)/2019 ft 17Dec 2019 is as under:

Entitled Cat(OR) -Rs 12,000

Entitled Cat(JCO)- Rs 18,000

Non entitled Cat:

(Offr)-Rs 32,000

(Civ)-Rs 51,000

Staff Cadets:

(D/scholars) -Rs 250

(Boarders)- Rs 2,000

A civilian need to pay Rs 51,000/- per year

A Jawan need to pay only Rs 12,000/- per year

So, a jawan get concession for Rs 39,000/- per year.

For 9 years of maximum period, a jawan may get concession of Rs 3,51,000/-

Note: For SC/ST in each category-25% of the fees paid by respective category No tuition fees for wards of personnel killed in action (KIA) The revised fee structure will be effective from the academic year 2020-21 till further revision

Reservation of vacancies for admission to RMS

General Guidlines :

(a) 70% for wards of JCOs/OR of Army , Navy and AF ( including Exservicemen) .

(b) 30% for wards of Officers of Army, Navy and AF (including retired Officers) and wards of civilians.

(c) 50 seats are reserved for wards of service personnel Killed in Action. Note: 15% and 7.5% seats are reserved for SC and ST in all categories.
