ASIGMA stands for Army Secure Indigenous Messaging Application. Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane on has officially launched the long waiting Army Secure Indigenous Messaging Application (ASIGMA), a new messaging application for the Indian Army.
As per information released by the Indian Army in media, this app will meet the needs of real time data transfer and messaging. This a web based application and it has been developed in-house by a team of Indian Army officers specially from Corps of Signals. This App has the similarity with the other commercial chat app as WhatsApp, which is quite secure. ASIGMA has followed a multilayered security to ensure security of sensitive info.
This messaging application is a new generation, state of the art, web based app. This application has been developed completely in-house by the team of officers from the Army Signal Corps. The application is being deployed on the Army’s internal network as a replacement for the Army Wide Area Network (AWAN) messaging application. AWAN was used by the Indian Army for the past 15 years.
