Wanto to know whether 8th Central Pay Commission will be held or not ? There is a huge confusion on Constitution of Eighth Central Pay Commission.  In the recommendations of 7th  Central Pay Commission, it was clearly direted that the revision of pay will be conducted as usual after 10 years. However, it is due on 01 Jan 2026, so, the govt may consider for constitution of the Pay Commision on due course.  Meanwhile  Ministry of Finance has released some information on this matter in Rajya Sabha.

Pay commission is always beneficial for Central Govt employees and pensioners including defence pensioners/soldiers.  Lets know the reality of the information released at Rajya Sabha QnA Session :

Will the Minister of Finance be pleased to state:

(a) whether Government has not considered para 1.22 contained in 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) report which recommended that pay matrix of Central Government employees may be reviewed periodically without waiting for long period of 10 years on the basis of Aykroyd formula;

(b) if so, whether Government would constitute Eighth CPC in view of the highest inflation in last 30 years and constitution of Seventh CPC in the year 2013;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) if not, the reasons therefore ?

(a): The Government has not considered this issue while according the approval of the revision of pay and allowances based on Seventh Central Pay Commission.

(b) to (d): No such proposal is under consideration with the Government for constitution of Eighth Central Pay Commission for the Central Government employees.

But the pensioners and emplo yees need not to be de-motivated on the information issued by the Ministry.  It may be expected that as usual, govt may constitute the 8th CPC on due course.
