PPO or Pension Payment Order is the most important order for Pensioners. Your PPO must consist of your complete personal and payment details including details of NOK i.e who will get the Family Pension after passing away of the initial pensioner.
The name of spouse and amount of Family Pension admissible is endorsed in the Pension Payment Order has been introduced from 01.03.1985. This enables the Pension Disbursing Authorities to commence Family Pension automatically consequent upon death of the pensioner without awaiting any further authorization from Pension Sanctioning Authority.
However, after introduction of SPARSH, the data is kept with the PCDA and as well as PPO is also originated and pension is disbursed by them only. So, it is now more easy to rectify or inclusion of name of Family Pensioner in the PPO.
Pensioner who are either not married at the time of discharge or who have retired prior to 01.03.1985 and joint notification is not notified in the Pension Payment Order, the pensioner may submit an application form in a prescribed format in triplicate duly authenticated by ZSB to the pension disbursing authority who in turn forward two copies of the application form to DAV /Record office for issuance of corrigendum pension payment order.
The estimated number of pensioners in whose case, joint notification of family pension was required to be done by the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (P) is approximately 6 lakhs.
You may be one amongst 6 lakhs pensioners who have not done their duty to their spouses. Please take action as early as possible by sending the application form to the DAV / Record Office for issuance of separate Pension Payment Order through Pension Disbursing Authority.
